AmDoc New York is Seeking a Web Development Team to Redesign their Website (Budget: $10,000 – $15,000)

AmDoc New York is Seeking a Web Development Team to Redesign their Website (Budget: $10,000 – $15,000)

Project Goal:

The goal is to update and improve the American Documentary (AmDoc) website, amdoc.org, and make some changes to the PBS website, pbs.org/pov. We want to make our websites easy to use, good-looking, and work well, ready for the start of POV Season 37. This project is all about making sure our different types of visitors, like supporters, filmmakers, educators, and the press, find what they need easily.

Key Features:

  1. Audience-Centric Design: The website will prioritize the needs and interests of its main audiences, offering dedicated sections for supporters, filmmakers, educators, community members, and the press. Each section will provide tailored content and resources to engage these distinct groups effectively.
  2. Integration and Consistency: Ensure a cohesive user experience by aligning the design and nomenclature with the POV website, pbs.org/pov, facilitating seamless navigation between the two sites without duplicating content.
  3. Enhanced Navigation: The redesigned website will feature an intuitive, easy-to-navigate interface, allowing users to find information, resources, and programs quickly. This includes a clear explanation of AmDoc’s role and its distinction from POV.
  4. Expanded Resources for Filmmakers and Educators: Offer comprehensive resources and links for filmmakers and educators, including access to educational materials, submission guidelines for filmmakers, and information on hosting screenings.
  5. Improved Content Management System (CMS): The project will introduce a more efficient CMS/Digital Asset Management (DAM) architecture, enabling easier content updates, film additions, and management of digital assets.
  6. Interactive and Engaging User Interface: Implement a visually appealing design that encourages user interaction and engagement, with a focus on storytelling and showcasing AmDoc’s impact and programs.
  7. Optimized Hosting Solution: Transition the website to a streamlined, cost-effective hosting solution, with an assessment of the current setup and identification of suitable technologies for development, hosting, and management.
  8. Accessibility and Inclusion: The website will be designed with accessibility in mind, ensuring that all users, including those with disabilities, have a positive and inclusive experience.
  9. Special Projects and Events Access: Provide easy access to information about special events, annual galas, special screenings, and other short-term projects that AmDoc offers, enhancing community involvement and support.
  10. Revamp of Secondary Projects: Include updates to the About POV page on the PBS website, revival of archived POV content, and a dynamic In The News section to highlight relevant films based on current events or releases.

This concise and simplified overview captures the essence of the project’s objectives and the key features planned for the website redesign, aiming for a launch that aligns with the values and needs of American Documentary and its diverse audiences.

💰 Estimated Budget: $10,000 – $15,000
